TWELVE STEPS AND TWELVE TRADITIONS

Alcoholics Anonymous deserves a more dramatic and interesting exposition than given in this book. For this is one of the exciting phenomena in America. Here one of its founders gives an adequate but pedestrian account of the principles which govern this remarkable movement which claims to have freed over 100,000 people from the grip of alcoholism since its beginnings in 1935. The ""twelve steps"" are the principles which expel the obsession of drink; the ""twelve traditions"" apply to the life of the fellowship. Unbelievably simple as they are, their efficacy has been demonstrated. The religious fervor- and in most cases the religious follow-through, justify placing this book under this heading. With the problem so widespread, this book may serve a purpose that the text book of the movement fails to serve.
