A sour kind of novelty is the basis for Cohen's sequel to Angel Without Mercy--as we find pathological killer Nurse Carmichael of St. Jude's Hospital still at it. Now promoted to Sister at St. Matthews, Nurse Carmichael's feelings of inferiority and isolation are mingled with pride in her new job. But her dark side gets the upper hand in an encounter with officious Major Abbott--whose car has smashed a headlight on Carmichael's beloved Mini. So the Major will get a fast and final comeuppance, followed soon after by similar treatment for his alcoholic, child-abusing wife The hospital backgrounds are again solid. But a little of righteously homicidal Sister Carmichael--who remains free of all suspicion, presumably ready for yet further installments--goes a long, predictable way.
