KIRKUS REVIEW

Just a few hours at the Hotel Ambre, in Paris, is a long evening for Jane Cardew, an English girl, as she falls in love with Peter Paynter, (not too) secret service, and is privy to the activities of a spy ring which has stolen a military device. Jane, by no means as naive as she is assumed to be, helps to save Peter Paynter's life and secure the papers.... A Hambledonian tone to this- skittish and a little skimpy.
