BEAR HUNT by Anthony Browne

BEAR HUNT

From England, a tricksy number that has little Bear pursued by two much larger, khaki-clad hunters through a crisp but silly forest. (Fish swim through the sky, shoes line a stem like leaves, and so on.) Whenever the bear seems about to be trapped, he whips out his pencil and draws his way out of the predicament--and all without losing his stiff little British composure. It's a performance that calls for one response: clever bear, and, by inference, clever Mr. Browne. But the cleverness is all, and it's not very original at that.
