KIRKUS REVIEW

The Galsworthy Reader appears as the eighth Scribner Reader in conjunction with the centennial of the author's birth. It consists of four short stories, two plays (The Silver Box and Justice), extracts from The Country House and Fraternity. Also, from the Forsyte chronicles, all of The Man of Property and Indian Summer of a Forsyte from the Saga, most of Swan Song, the concluding volume of A Modern Comedy, in which the death of Soames Forsyte marks the close of the history.
