Discreetly padding around in the distance, surely more like a carpetslipper than a gumshoe, Arthur Crook is back again and still another accident jeopardizes his life when Margaret Cooper, who had been cleared in court years ago on a murder charge (her first husband) now faces the blackmail of a servant. The case is neither very surreptitious nor surprising but people look to this series for its cheerful, old-fashioned rectitude.
