Jan, on the run from a worthless husband who was, recently involved in both a robbery and murder, meets Arthur Crook on a train; he makes possible her escape to London where she learns that she is wanted to identify her husband's body. Abducted by his associates, she is held prisoner in an attic and Crook, along with an interested admirer, continues the search which will bring her back alive.... A. Crook's tour is conducted with the usual blithe busy-ness which may substitute for any real elements of surprise.
