Solange Peters leaves Italy (and a worthless Italian who will now be worth something) under the popular assumption that she had murdered the Marchesa she attended as a resident nurse. A place crash on the way home gives her a chance to start again with a new name and a new face and a new job where she takes care of a woman, also a nurse, believed to have killed her former patient. Mr. Crook monitors the scene in his fashion which is steady but now slow and quiet but not dull. Comfortable.
