The authors, two young British sorts who toiled in an antique establishment called Sophisto-Cat, bought Christian, a lion cub, at Harrod's with ""curious excitement."" Thereupon all kind of jolly-ho's in the shop and recreational areas. . . until Christian began to grow into mature lionhood and then what does one do? Fortunately Bill and Virginia Travers (of Born Free movie fame) came to the rescue with a proposed TV film and plans for the Kenyan rehabilitation of Christian by George Adamson. Christian and the boys waft Kenya-wood and it's all a rather smooth go from compound to the wilds. More gaiety than lion lore, but there's always room for another lion in the popular fancy.
