FOUR FROM THE OLD TOWN

A story of Poland under German occupation through the adventures of four Polish children and the part they played in Lwow, now liberated by the Red Army. Though the pattern of the story follows routine expectation -- spies -- Fifth Column activities -- Underground -- the details are only beginning to be known. This is a realistic story of betrayal, of starvation, of Jewish persecution, of distribution of Underground printed matter, of the Underground schools that were carried on under the very eyes of the Nazis Strongly nationalistic -- with an adroit evasion of the problem of the Soviet.
