STRANGE RETURN

Flood waters at Pine Ridge bring on a dual tragedy for Levi Fox when Bess, his wife, disappears in the river and the body of their adopted son, Bandy, is brought back from a watery grave. But although Sheriff Roden is unable to attach the evidence of murder to these casualties, Levi's remarriage- some months later- revives the case as Bess returns to haunt him- and to avenge the unsolved but not unforgotten murder. Old faithful in this series which has a certain stamina at best.
