BOMBERS IN THE SKY

Eleven stories in which British, Canadian or American members of wartime bombing crews figure are presented here in a collection which is singularly entertaining. A young flyer on a fatal mission speaks his last words to a sweetheart by ship radio; a war correspondent fights fear of joining an R. A. F. mission; a general's nurse is delivered by glider; a pub habitue retaliates when his favorite haunt is damaged; an obsolete craft gives the enemy something to remember it by. Ironic, swiftly paced, humorous and stirring, these stories, four of which have appeared previously in magazines, will have a direct appeal to boys, but are sufficiently gripping to be read with pleasure by teen age girls.
