THE RADIO IMP

The pretty radio that the poor Tompkins family bought was made in Ireland and called ""The Radio with a Soul"" and was different from other radios. Its programs told you about events in the future and sometimes the radio talked back to you and carried on amusing commentary satirizing real radio programs. Because of it the children catch a gang of thieves and win honor and money for themselves and their friend Patrolman O'Donnel. A cockeyed fantasy with sly digs at radio which makes this easy going tale a special for chuckles. Set in New York's lower East Side with plenty of people and bustle.
