KIRKUS REVIEW

Last minute arrival of this geography-picture-book-primer, which takes the air-minded child on a thoroughly comprehensible -- and comprehensive trip for a birdseye view of what is happening from Canada to the western coast across the USA, seeing from train and boat and plane, what geography does to living; then down to Mexico, Central America and South America, with every fact a picture by Fritz Kredel. Pictures that are virtually part of the text, and that make the youngsters visualize the things that grow, the activities, the ways people make their living --and the link with physical features of America, North and South. Many of the pictures are in color -- and every page is a picture story, with enough white space background so that there is none of that cluttery, crowded sense that results from many of these coverall jobs. The text is very elementary -- the pictures will make a more lasting impression.
