KIRKUS REVIEW

Another title shifted from Fall to this date, reported 9/1/46 as follows:- ""The Rain Forest of Papua has a treasure that a few seek,- the King of Saxony Bird of Paradise. The young white boy, with a native guide, sets out to find his father who is deep in the forest, Pygmy cannibals, pythons, an eerie atmosphere, sensitivity to the unusual environment, and good values distinguish this book from the average tropical adventure story. Local native gendarmes, colorful characters, go through brush and jungle thicket to get their man, which -- in this case- turns out to be an entire pygmy settlement. Interesting background for a good yarn by a favorite author.
