HULL-DOWN FOR ACTION

Sperry has proved he can make the South Seas both real and exciting. In this story, Judd Anders, hero of his Lost Lagoon, is the victim of a planned mutiny. As a Nazi and a Jap spy make off with his ship on the fateful December 7th, Judd and his three friends are cast adrift on a raft. They reach Guadalcanal, evade the Japs, escape from unfriendly natives and recapture their ship in a rousing adventure yarn. Good handling of native problems, dramatically strained, perhaps, but with compensation in the authentic background material, familiar to the author who spent several years in the South Pacific. A Newbery Medal winner with another good tale.
