THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF THE DANCE

As commendable as its predecessor, The Wonderful World of Music, this elaborately illustrated text introduces the reader to the dance in all its forms. Tracing dancing from its early manifestations as a religious exercise or a type of mime, it follows it through classic ballet up to present ballroom dancing. Africa and the Orient are included in this thorough and interesting study which is illustrated with pictures contemporary to the periods under discussion and with photographs. Highly recommended for home and school libraries, high school readers and adults may well find much of interest here, as will most certainly readers in the junior high schools.
