Not a strip but a sort of Armour-like history accompanied by separate, Searle-like cartoons that either elaborate on the gags or throw in altogether new twists. There are charts of different types of cats, dogs, and horses and all sorts of primitive satires, sight jokes, and visual puns about pets and their people; the pictures run to slapstick and shows of clenched teeth. It wouldn't be fair to repeat or describe them out of context, but Roth is rabidly inventive and he packs them tight enough to ensure that there will be something here for everyone's funnybone.
