Truth unvarnished about parents, teachers, school, money, brothers and sisters, daily life and personal affairs also includes unblushing revelation of family jokes and secrets, wishes and ambitions, unpredictable activities, games and parties, toys and pets. There are descriptions and confessions, daydreams and hobbies; there are many odd thoughts and imagination unloosed; there is a sense of the child's world in his understanding -- or misunderstanding -- of adults and their ways.
