HARY JO AND LITTLE LIU

Content of this story is at the six to eight level --mechanically, it might be difficult for a child below third or fourth grade to read to himself. A friendly story of a little Chinese boy who met -- and became friends with -- a little American girl next door. The little friends shared toys, and exchanged explanations about the customs of their own people. The setting -- a wealthy Chinese home -- is something new, for we get a preponderance of peasant characters in books about children of other lands.
