KIRKUS REVIEW

Good yarn of slave-trading days in the story of a young fisherman who turns to deep sea sailing under a hard drinking captain, trading in slaves, in order to win the respect of his prospective father-in-law. But when his captain makes advances to the girl, the boy thrashes and cripples him, and brings the ship through a hurricane. Ultimately both boat and slaves are lost, but the youth collects enough money to buy his own deep sea boat and marry the girl.
