HUNTING NORTH AMERICAN DEER by Arthur H. Carhart

HUNTING NORTH AMERICAN DEER

By

Pub Date: Nov. 20th, 1945
Publisher: Macmillan

This is a book for a sharply defined market -- the deer hunter, not the sportsman who enjoys armchair adventure. In this respect it differs sharply from O'Connor's Hunting in the Southwest (see P. 416) which has a place on the reading shelf. This is a handbook on hunting today, locale where deer are found, kind of land they seek, how to pick up the trail, kinds of deer and where found, their habits -- in relation to when and how to hunt them, and the methods to use, -- still hunting, stalk or drive. White tails -- mule deer -- black tails are discussed. Conservation problems with photographs and a diagram for the butchering.
