In honor of her centennial -- a very brief biography of Annapolis which is to be primarily a picture-text book, with more than 300 photographs. A basic review of her history, from the spathetic indifference to naval instruction which followed the Revolution to the founding of the Academy in 1845 under George Bancroft...Her role in five wars, her present day program of learning, buildings, equipment, etc...This will have a particular gift book appeal market -- mater, etc. Some of the photographs are to be in full color President Truman has written an introduction, text of which is not available at this writing. Between July 30th and the centenary celebration in October special promotion will be provided.
