MILDRED THE RAIN CLOUD

This droll tale of Mildred, a harmless rain cloud that wanted to be popular with people but grew into a raging hurricane, is enjoyable, but not exceptional. Mildred travels from New Hampshire to the Caribbean, and on her return trip, is depressed, because people no longer welcome her arrival. Her sorrow turns to joy when she meets and marries a winningly friendly Tornado. The Artist's whimsical interpretation of the text is pleasant. Imaginative young readers will enjoy viewing the world from Mildred's unique perspective.
