KIRKUS REVIEW

Fascinating, particularly to those who know New York, for it is a history of New York through the history of its landed wealth. A shifting scene, changing values, a rather cynical reflection of its development. Chock full of anecdotal material, and dramatic bits. The New York shops will clean up on it. Outside, it should have a certain cosmopolitan appeal. Entertaining for all.
