KIRKUS REVIEW

Polliwog, alias Joey Pond, was really ordinary little boy with an extraordinary gift -- a boundless imagination. In fact it was because of Joey's dream of walking on air and his subsequent attempt to do so, that he acquired the nickname Polliwog. Moving into a new neighborhood opened a new world to Joey. With his two new friends Bob and Tucker, Polliwog discovers the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans (in a negihbourood swamp), the thrill of crossing geographical boundaries to buy candy (the county line), as well as the inadvisability of playing practical jokes on bigger and tougher boys. Polliwog's special brand of humor and enthusiasm for adventure make this first year a rollicking one and the book about it a lighthearted entertainment.
