THE BODY AT MADMAN'S BEND by Arthur W. Upfield

Upfield continues to tell a good story which is well-reasoned with good situations and deductive detail as his detective ""Bony"" works away to a solution, and the Australian background is again an unusual feature. For this reader the weaknesses of his books lie in the insistence on Bony's psychological limitations, and assets, as a half-caste and in a style that seems oddly old-fashioned. They are reflected in this story of the violent death of a hated man and a cataclysmic flood.
