KIRKUS REVIEW

It takes a thief to--- and Napoleon Bonaparte assumes this alias to catch some aboriginal sinners in Cork Valley. As an extra hand, he is hired- and then trusted- to engage in a smuggling traffic which enables him to determine the facts behind the presumed murder of an excise officer. Steady- but by no means stirring.
