KIRKUS REVIEW

Not the story of a Scot and his sheep but a very good book by a rural pastor who believes that in the country lies the great opportunity for our young clergy. Not in great city parishes where they are wined and dined by scheming mothers but in small villages and towns where they will see life and death, agriculture and industry, where they will be the centre of parish activities and where activity will centre in the parish. Such a book has been needed for a long time and the publishers were very clever in their choice of Dr. Hewitt, a man who has spent his life in rural work, loves it and has achieved a high measure of success. He will prove an inspiration as well as a wise guide and councillor to every rural minister and anyone considering the openings in rural work.
