The modern power plant -- types of engines -- their place in the plane-their relation to the fuel system, propeller, etc. Historical background of engines, basic facts about power, as foundation for the main part of the book -- the power plant of the airplane, the fuel system, engine itself, lubrication system, cooling system, accessories, parts of the engine, basis of judging performance. He then goes on into overhaul, disassembly, data for learning procedure, cleaning, inspection, sub-assembly, final assembly, and testing.
