TOLD UNDER SPACIOUS SKIES

The seventh of the ""Umbrella Book"" anthologies selected by the Association, this presents a valuable and animated collection of contemporary American regional stories from well known juvenile writers. Lois Lenski has written a tone-setting introduction about honesty and realism in children's literature and is represented herself in the book with a story about the Tennessee-Arkansas countryside. Elizabeth Coatsworth, Cornelia Meigs, Ruth Holberg, Frances Cavanah, Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, Marguerite Henry are but a few of the others. Fine for home or school and to read aloud too.
