KARLSON ON THE ROOF

Karlsson is the childish little flying man who visits Eric's room from his secret house on the roof. Playmate, scapegoat, braggart and glutton, he eats up all Eric's candies, takes him window-peeping, and scares away some robbers when Eric is home alone. In the end, just before Eric and Karlsson depart to visit their respective grandmothers, the boy's disbelieving family finally meets the problematical Karlsson — but as Eric by now has the dog he's wanted all along, no one really expects Karlsson to continue the visits. Figment or flesh, he won't be missed.
