KIRKUS REVIEW

Mr. Topple was first a vegetable pushcart man, while he dreamed of a place in the country. Then he was a peanut seller, then it was balloons- but always he dreamed. Finally, when things kept going askew, he consulted an old magician who advised him to find a four leaf clover, a horse shoe, a haystack, a white horse, and a woman in a polka dot dress. The search took him into the country-and there his wish came true. Nice pictures in soft crayon effects, with the effect of the originals in reproduction.
