KIRKUS REVIEW

One of the doggiest dog stories in a __'s' age tells about Mr. Murfit who lives in his pet shop with all sorts of birds, fish, three chihuahua puppies- and HECTOR. Hector's so huge he knocks things over every time he wags his tail. And nobody wants to buy him. The customers buy the chihuahuas instead. Then Hector takes a hint, journeys to a nearby suburb and finds a perfect owner with a large yard and a vacant dog house. Miss Chalmer's soft brown pencil characterizations will remind you of all the funniest dogs you've ever seen.
