BIRTHDAY OF OBASH

This story has lots to recommend it, but it is much too long for the age at which it is aimed. No breaks for some fifty odd pages in a story of the optimistic baby hippopotamus who thought everyone would want to celebrate his birthday with him- and was heart broken because they ran away. Finally he found the homeless Frizzlewits who were just crazy enough to think a hippo's birthday was a lark. And it all turned out beautifully for everyone concerned. Nonsense with a bit of commonsense and enchanting pictures in wash.
