When Baby Bear's parents tell him it's time to do things for himself--wash, dress, etc.--he messes up the first time around, but soon catches on. There are other rewards: bedtime is later since he's no longer a baby--and he still gets a bedtime story. A nicely rounded rite-of-passage book for the youngest, with cheery, cartoonlike illustrations.
