THE MOON TENDERS

When Sim and Steve decide to build a raft and float forty miles down the Wisconsin River during the summer of 1922, they do not anticipate the adventure that awaits them at Bogus Bluff. But Steve, the more imaginative of the two, has heard rumors of buried treasure there, and treasure there is -- a fortune in counterfeit buffalo nickels. The boys seem to be in a spot when they are confronted by the counterfeiters themselves, but are finally released, promising to keep their discovery a secret. How and why the boys tell of their adventure, and the results of their confession, makes a slight but entertaining yarn of youth growing into manhood.
