This is a stenographic record of the memorial meeting, held under the auspices of the Newspaper Guild, and naturally the Guild is seen with rose-colored glasses. A spotty little volume, well produced, but neither fish, fresh fowl, nor good red herring. Most of the speakers are content with admiring Broun in one respect or another, but they do not even pretend to give a picture of the man himself. John L. Lewis, F.P.A. John Kieran, Frank Sullivan, Morris Ernst, La Guardia and others tell anecdotes, recall Broun's contribution to journalism, to politics, to causes of various liberal kinds. A disappointing record of a colorful personality.
