KIRKUS REVIEW

New England on the half shell in an agreeable pictorial essay that reads along easily enough for a popular audience. The major concentration is on the hub, Boston (""Liking Boston is like saluting the flag,"" said one ex-Bostonian), but also extending from Maine to Connecticut. The authors describe the scape, the Yankee character, New England history from the May-flower Saints and Strangers through building the New Boston, the intellectual heritage and investment in the future.
