U.S. COAST GUARD PICTORIAL AND SERVICE LOG

Laymen and civilians with friends and members of the family in the Coast Guard will love this photographic record of the history, traditions, responsibilities, branches, etc., of the Coast Guard. But somehow I cannot quite visualize any of the young men I see in Coast Guard uniform keeping records -- a sort of ""memory book"" -- a log for personal data -- and memoranda of his days in the service. And yet that is the purpose designated by the publishers. The photographs are superb; the text is interesting and informative --though more adventurous accounts of Coast Guard exploits are to be found.
