A former research fellow at Rookefeller Foundation, now with the Netherlands Information Bureau, here contributes an interpretation,- an historical and economic rather than a personal and human view of Holland. Returning home after the war, he reveals his impressions of change,- the quest of reconstruction, physical and psychological; discussion of religion and politics since separation of Church and State has never been wholly achieved; of Holland's economy and economic problems (resentment of government controls, inflation, lack of capital, etc.); of her place in the world, not forgetting her one-time greatness; her culture; and finally the No. 1 problem of the Dutch East Indies, which has declared itself a Republic under (he claims) Japanese stimulus.
