Arthur Klein on Traven's career as a revolutionary journalist in' Germany before and after World War I amplifying the final piece here, ""In the Freest State in the World."" It also contains an excerpt from a novel, The White Rose, and ten stories, translated by the Kleins, dealing with life among the Mexican Indians.
