JUMP-ROPE RHYMES

The illustrations have casual energy and grace but for number of rhymes (and specific directions) Worstell's Jump the Rope Jingles has the edge. Six of the fifteen in here appear in various forms (McGee combines Marco Polo Went to France with the Little Dutch Girl) among the forty in the earlier book. The new volume assumes that ellipsis will indicate that the jumper should keep going until she misses whereas Worstell spells it out and suggests additional games at the end. It's a lesser offering, then, a limited alternative.
