KIRKUS REVIEW

The events which cause young Henri to change his selling pitch from ""Fierce Ferocious Fighting Mongooses For Sale"" to ""Pet Mongooses For Sale"" are related in lively English (black print, top of page) and French (blue print, bottom half). Although Henri does give in to his younger sister once, he decides to stay in the mongoose business with her help. The Caribbean isle is caught in color by the artist whose technique involves the use of a hand-carved bamboo pen; his colors are tropical in mood and his people festive and lively. An unusual, bilingual book which the elementary grade-school French classes should be able to read with some assistance from le professeur.
