KIRKUS REVIEW

For insatiable racehorse tans, the story of Bill Bubble who ""jumped at every shadow he saw"" until Miguel, a jockey from Panama, buys him and trains him and gentles him (with soothing words and a cat for company) to stability and victory. The story never deviates from the well-worn horse book course but Cellini's pictures, alternately black-and-white and glaring full color (picture jockeys' iridescent outfits in sharp sunlight) will keep the crowd awake.
