KIRKUS REVIEW

How to translate real estate ad lingo, avoid empty-refrigerator odor, and bury a dog who dies en route to the new home: breezy, anecdotal advice aimed at the non-working wife who follows her corporate husband's every move. Friedrich and Hultstrand are veterans who have developed the kind of shortcuts and unflappability that Bracken and Bombeck readers admire--like sprinkling nutmeg on a warm burner for ersatz apple-pie aroma. There's the Forbidden Closet, holding items for last-day packing; garage sale tips; timetables from six weeks before; and the usual shoulder-shrugging humor. Anyone making a move can benefit from the accumulated know-how on selling a house, orienting the kids, or offsetting post-partum blues, but corporate gypsies will especially prize their copies--in this city and the next.
