Well, it was bound to happen, and maybe we should be grateful that it didn't include a Tag Chi section and a chapter on successful embezzlement through prayer. With predictable fanfare about bringing important life-functions into serene alignment, Tyson and Walker produce a high-protein, restricted-carbohydrate diet of moderate calorie content, to be used in conjunction with twice-daily meditation sessions. The theory is, of course, that excess weight is principally caused by stress resulting in compulsive rather than controlled eating patterns. Meditation--a modified relaxation response using any simple word or phrase as mantra--relieves stress, ""shows you what is causing you to respond negatively in terms of proper eating,"" and ""enables your life to flow effortlessly and in rhythm with nature."" Despite the silly claims and gimmickry, the approach is undoubtedly saner than some of the Stillman-inspired recipes for ketosis.
