DO TIGERS EVER BITE KINGS?

The rhyme swings, it's just long enough without being too long and it's quotable with notably impressive big words. It follows the tiger hunt the gentle king mounted for the delight of his ferocious queen. The tiger is as timorous as the king and, when the two meet in the jungle, they oblige each other. The king pretends to kill the tiger, the tiger rolls over and plays dead. ""And now, every year in September/The King steals away with great glee/Till he comes to an olive-green jungle/Where he and the Tiger have tea."" The illustrations, in color and black and white, have a strong, distinctive line and match the commanding dignity and high good humor of the verse.
