CHESTER CHIPMUNK'S THANKSGIVING

Chester's Thanksgiving gets off to a slow start, as his grouchy invalid cousin Archie declines Chester's invitation to come and share his pecan pie; and though Chester then bakes another pie and invites the Woodchuck family, then makes two more pies to feed the Cottontails, everyone refuses except for Oswald Opossum who has been fishing for an invitation all along. But then the families have a change of heart; the Woodchucks show up with their crabgrass stew and the Cottontails with a carrot pudding, and even Cousin Archie arrives to share in the feasting and conviviality. Not much of a story--though no doubt Kay Chorao's soft pencil drawings and the elegant sienna-on-eggshell format will give it some seasonal appeal.
