KIRKUS REVIEW

The author of Valiant is the Word for Carrie and The Chicken Wagon Family and April Was When It Began has written a sort of adult fantasy-blend of faith, romance and humor in a gentle tale of love and trust that conquers evil, despair, poverty and fear. Another ""valiant"" company of little people are transformed by two who have faith (Perry, who has run away from home and who is dreaming dreams for her strange place of work -- and the archangel, Michael, in human form, always at hand when needed). There is Eddie, a sourish proofreader, who needs what they have to offer. There is Mandy, a pickpocket Perry has adopted. And there are others, who find the world a better place, Written with a homely quality that endears Benefield to many of his readers. S E P serialization.
